What it does
Opened from the check
The NCR points at the inspection and the field that failed. Nobody retypes the defect into a second book.
Hold until release
Product stays held until an authorised role records a disposition. The desk does not release it on its own.
Disposition on the record
Rework, scrap, or concession is written down with the reason. The history is appended, not replaced.
Who closed it, and when
Closure needs a person and a time. An open item stays visible on the shift desk.
